Kilkenny are through to the All Ireland Intermediate Camogie Final after beating Galway at McDonagh Park in Nenagh earlier today 1-8 to 9 points.

Saturated conditions at Leopardstown left course officials with no option but to abandon the Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion Stakes meeting earlier today. The Champion Stakes meeting will instead take place on Sunday at 1.40pm.
In Senior Hurling...
The Kilkenny Senior team to play Waterford in tomorrow's All-Ireland Hurling Final at Croke Park has been named. The team is unchanged from that which started against Cork in the semi-final. That means that PJ Ryan starts in goal. The full back line sees Michael Kavanagh start in the right corner, Noel Hickey is at full-back, with Jackie Tyrrell in the left corner. The half-backs are Tommy Walsh, Brian Hogan and JJ Delaney. Captain James 'Cha' Fitzpatrick is partnered at midfield by Derek Lyng. Martin Comerford is named at right half-forward, with Richie Power at centre-forward and Eoin Larkin on the left. The inside-forward line sees Eddie Brennan don the number 13 jersey in the right corner. Henry Shefflin is named at full-forward and Aidan Fogarty starts in the top right corner. Kilkenny's opponents, Waterford also named an unchanged team from that which got the better of Tipperary in the semi-final. Throw-in for the big game is at 3.30pm tomorrow.

Kilkenny legend Ducksy Walsh is today playing in his 20th All-Ireland Senior Handball Final. His opponent in Croke Park is Dublin’s Eoin Kennedy and the 29-year-old is aiming for his fifth title in a row. But he has a long way to go to beat 42 year old Walshe's record – Ducksy has won 16 of the 20 finals he has competed in.

Nineteen-year-old Rory McIlroy outplayed defending champion Brett Rumford today and will take a four-stroke lead into the final round of the Omega European Masters in Switzerland. If he takes the title, McIlroy will become the third youngest winner in European Tour history.

Ireland's first World Cup qualifer in Germany is currently underway against Georgia under their new Manager Giovanni Trappatoni. Stephen Hunt has been drafted into Trapattoni’s starting line-up. The Reading midfielder, as expected, takes the place of the injured Damien Duff in the only change to the side which ran out for last month’s friendly in Norway. Wigan full-back Kevin Kilbane makes his 49th consecutive competitive appearance wearing a protective mask over his fractured cheekbone. There is no place in the starting team for Sunderland's Andy Reid. In other World cup qualifiers Wales have beaten Azerbaijan 1-0, but Scotland have been beaten 1- 0 by Macedonia.
